We depend on these programs to work, it is our lively hood, this is how we make a living, how about getting us something that works. Why does the act of deleting points increase the data size? Every year since 2016 I keep hoping to see improvements and nothing. Whenever you delete a few points, the next time you open the scan data it takes 20 minutes for the cloud just to open. I have tried to export the scans to an RCS file, it ran 12 hours at 0% processed so that does not work. I have been trying to clean 200 scans now for the past 5 days. I have to agree, that Recap is one of the most worthless programs, unless your data is under 20 scans. Unless Autodesk see this product is being used frequent they will not fix these issues, I urge users to take the time to tell Autodesk how they use this product and what can be done to fix this or it will soon become another SHOWCASE! They removed a very good beta tool (mesh object) that I assuming was because no one was using it, this could have been down to the fact that Recap is suffering with performance issues. also my laptop has been upgraded a few times and still the application is sluggish and poor. I work with laser scans frequently (between 20-40 scans max) I have utilised all the tips and tricks with regions, exporting rcs files etc. I feel that this product will soon be unsupported and users will be left with a tool that does not work in a design workflow that Autodesk say is seamless. Do they not understand that this slowness and poor performance is driving users to other applications. I am so disappointed that Autodesk do not see that this application could be so much more that it is now. I tend to use the Faro products to export to RCP files, but I am finding the FARO SCENE now has so many new tools that I am spending more and more time in this application giving the end user what they need rather than using Recap. I have been using Recap now for a few years and find that it has never really been improved in terms of performance. I totally agree with the slowness and uselessness!
